Young Lions Representing Luxembourg

What a summer for our young lions! From Austria to Montenegro — our players represented Luxembourg on biggest chess tournament.

With the conclusion of the European Youth Chess Championship 2025, it’s the perfect time to look back on the busy and successful summer tournament season, during which several young players from our club proudly represented the National Team of Luxembourg in top international youth events.

The season began with the 22nd European Union Youth Chess Championship (U08–U14) held in Mureck, Austria, from August 1–9, where our club was represented by:

  • Gabriel Frisch in the U10 category

  • Jan Frisch in the U14 category

Next, at the 23rd European Union Youth Chess Championship (U08–U14) in Rožnov, Czech Republic, from August 18–27, our representative was:

  • Olaf Guzdziol in the U12 category

In Almaty, Kazakhstan, the FIDE World Cadet Chess Championships took place from September 19–30, with:

  • Nikolai Solovev competing in the U10 category

Finally, the European Youth Chess Championship 2025 in Budva, Montenegro (October 29 – November 7) brought together the continent’s best young players. Our club was proudly represented by:

  • Franciszek Dowgialo in the U08 category

  • Nikolai Solovev in the U10 category

A huge congratulations to all our young players for their dedication, progress, and strong performances throughout the summer.

Representing Luxembourg and our club at these major European and World competitions is an outstanding achievement — we are very proud of each one of you!
