Training Levels of Our Chess Club

Our chess club offers a variety of training groups tailored to different skill levels and ages, ensuring that every child receives appropriate coaching. Here's a detailed analysis of each training level:

Junior Group

Schedule: Sunday 10:00 - 10:55

This group is designed for children aged 5 to 7 who are new to chess and do not yet understand the basic moves. Specifically, these children have not grasped the movements of the pieces, the concept of castling, pawn promotion, or the "en passant" rule. Older children who need a refresher on the basic moves are also welcome to join this group.

Junior II Group

Schedule: Saturday 17:30 - 18:25

This is a new group intended for children who are 6-7 years old and older who do not yet have a strong grasp of the basic moves or are completely new to chess. The focus here is on building a solid foundation in the game.

Beginner Group

Schedule: Saturday 14:00 - 14:55 and Sunday 11:00 - 11:55

Both groups are of similar skill level. The typical age of participants is 8 years and older, though exceptions are made for younger children who demonstrate readiness. These children are familiar with all the piece movements and are gradually being introduced to competitive chess. Most are ready to participate in school tournaments. Last season, the Sunday group was slightly stronger than the Saturday group due to the presence of older children.

Intermediate Group

Schedule: Saturday 15:00 - 15:55

This group primarily consists of children who actively participate in tournaments and are more dedicated to improving their chess skills. They have a solid understanding of the game and are looking to enhance their competitive play.

Advanced Group

Schedule: Saturday 16:00 - 17:30

This is the only group with a 90-minute session. It includes children who have been playing chess for several years, most of whom are over 12 years old. However, talented younger players are also accepted. The extended session allows for deeper exploration of advanced strategies and more intensive practice.

Additional Information

Trial classes will be held only on Saturday 17:30 to 18:25. Every Friday from 18:30 to 20:00, there will be an activity at the club for which you will be informed later.

Throughout the year, if a child shows significant progress, they may be moved to a more advanced group if they wish to do so. This flexible approach ensures that each child can develop at their own pace and receive the appropriate level of challenge and support.

The first classes will begin on Saturday, September 21, and Sunday, September 22. We are always available to assist with any further questions or needs you may have.

The registration link for the season will be sent via email to all students from last year. Registration for new students will open on August 1.
