2ere Coupe de Bertrange

Cette 2ème edition de la Coupe de Bertrange a montré une réelle amélioration par rapport à 2022 : un espace incroyable, des tables d’analyse, des parties en live sur Internet, un accès facilité etc… Il y avait pas moins de 75 joueurs pour ce tournoi, qui a eu lieu les 27-28-29 octobre dans la Salle des Fêtes de Bertrange, venant de différentes fédérations.
For this 2nd edition of the Coupe de Bertrange, our club has decided to raise the bar on all fronts: amazing venue, lots of space, refreshments, analysis boards, live broadcast, ease of access etc…No less than 75 players registered for this tournament which took place on the 27-28-29 October in the Salle des Fêtes de Bertrange, and coming from various federations.
Les 5 premiers échiquiers ont connu de très belles parties and le classement est resté indécis jusqu’à la fin. Finalement, c’est Philippe Putz de Chess Club Strooseen, qui remporte la mise avec 6 points sur 7, suivi de son coéquipier de club, Yashar Movahedi, qui n’est arrivé au Luxembourg que depuis 6 semaines. Mariya Anissimova, joueuse de Trèves de 19 ans, complete le podium et finit 1ère féminine du tournoi. Ces 3 joueurs ont fait preuve de beaucoup de patience et ont utilisé la quasi entièreté du temps qui leur était alloué.
It was a high level battle in the first 5 boards, and the winner was undecided until the last round. At the end, Philippe Putz from Chess Club Stroossen, clinched the first place with 6 points, followed by his club colleague Yashar Movahedi, who landed in Luxembourg only 6 weeks ago. Mariya Anissimova, from Trier, 19 years old, completed the podium and first female player of the tournament. All three players have demonstrated amazing skills and calm, using the full potential of the available time.
Le tournoi incluait les enfants et chez les U8, c’est Hamza Esmer qui finit premier avec 4 points (28eme au classement général). Chez les U10, Ian Capun finit 1er avec 4.5 points (19ème au classement général. Adwaye Maher finit 1er chez les U12 (17ème au classement général) avec 4.5 points. Chez les U14, la 1ere place est remportée par Axel Plard (8ème au classement général) avec 5 points). Chez les U16, c’est Sevda Reding qui prend la 1ère place (14ème au général, 2ème féminine) et enfin, c’est Luca Selzer qui remporte la mise chez les U18 avec une magnifique 5ème place au général et 5.5 points.
The tournament included children and in Under 8, Hamza Esmer came on top, finishing 28th overall, with 4 points. Under 10 winner was Ian Capun, finishing 19th overall with 4.5 points. In the Under 12, Adwaye Maher finished first (17th overall) with 4.5 points), Under 14 winner was Axel Plard (8th overall) with 5 points. Under 16 victory went to Sevda Reding (14th overall) with 4.5 points. And finally U18 winner was Luca Selzer with a superb 5th overall ranking and 5.5 points.
